Yoga and Massage for pain and movement

Living with chronic tension and pain, anxiety and stress can be debilitating. Waking up in the morning and feeling that sensation of stiffness and limited range of motion; going to bed with our head full of thougths and not being able to fall asleep. Most of us have experienced these feelings.

Pain, stress and anxiety are extremely interconnected, more often than not they go hand in hand and it can be frustraiting not to know what to do about it, how we can help ourselves move with and through these feelings.

Research over the last few years has shown that the experience of pain is not only influenced by tissue damage, but it is also heavely influenced by both psychological and social factors. This approach is known as biopsychosocial model – an approach we might also refer to as holistic, which involves the whole person rather than just the sum of the parts.

Yoga, Meditation and Clinical Massage modalities can be of great impact, targeting both the body and the mind. Helping to maintain and restore mobility, flexibilty and strength, but also increasing resilience to everyday stresses and, in turn, improve our pain response, quality of sleep and mood.
